When it comes to Grand Theft Auto IV characters and themes, Trevor's entrance is a very blatant "fuck you." As a consequence, I found the story difficult to connect with in Grand Theft Auto 5. Rockstar's decreasing interest in romantic anti-heroes can be seen in the game's continuous skewering of southern California, as well as in the fact that this is a deliberate choice. The only ones that seem to have any kind of inner life in this situation are Michael, Franklin,and Trevor. His home-brew morality is at odds with his propensity for violence and sexual aggressiveness, which is why he lives in the desert and deals methamphetamine. In spite of his reputation as a moral man, Franklin is a man who would do anything for money. Michael is a middle-aged bank robber who is on the verge of a mental collapse because of his marital difficulties. There are a lot of two-dimensional characters in this metropolis, and the three protagonists are no exception.
